Dr. Ashley Plowman, PT, PCES
Meet Dr. Ashley

“I’ve always been fascinated by the human body and how it works, so it was no surprise when I decided to purse physical therapy after experiencing how life changing PT had been for my high school sweetheart (now husband), as he recovered from a football injury (ultimately leading him to become a Physical Therapist as well).

In 2008, I earned my undergraduate degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from the University of Kentucky, followed by my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Kentucky in 2012. I began my career working primarily in outpatient orthopedics, acute care, and inpatient rehabilitation. After having my first child a couple years later, I began working in skilled nursing facilities and later home health, where I thoroughly enjoyed helping others regain independence and function.

Little did I know, my own experience with regaining function would be exactly what brought me to Pelvic Floor PT following the birth of my second child a few years later. I had a successful VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean), however I ended up with a 4th degree perineal tear (the worst birth tear injury you can have). My journey through that postpartum recovery changed everything–ultimately for good! I experienced first-hand the need for improved prenatal and postpartum care and in 2019 I decided to pursue becoming a Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist. Soon after, I birthed my business baby, New Mom Guru, in 2019!

I’m amazed daily by the women I get to work with and still have to pinch myself, wondering if this is all real. When I’m not working I love spending time with my husband and two daughters, doing barre and kickboxing classes, spending time outside (preferably near a body of water), and day dreaming about traveling with our friends.”

Meet Dr. Jorden

“I have known I wanted to be a physical therapist since high school, as I played sports and worked with some amazing PTs to overcome injuries. After high school I attended the University of Kentucky where I earned my undergraduate degree in Kinesiology, graduating in 2012. One year later I was accepted into UK’s Physical therapy program and graduated in 2016. I spent the first few years of my career specializing in orthopedics, even completing residency in this area. Despite specializing in orthopedics, my interests shifted to pelvic floor physical therapy after my own experience with pregnancy and childbirth. I knew I needed to shift my focus to pelvic floor PT and helping other women through these very significant experiences. I feel lucky to say that I have been doing just that for the last two years! I have come to realize that it is my passion to empowering women to reach their goals during hard life-stages and to get them feeling like their best and healthiest self. When I’m not working I enjoy spending time with my husband and two children, exercising, reading, cheering on UK, and traveling!”
