Do I need exercise equipment?
Not necessarily, especially for immediately postpartum. Your provider will discuss appropriate activities and exercises with you. Over time you will want to invest in some small pieces of equipment such as exercise bands and light weights (3#, 5#), an exercise ball (large and small).
As your activity level increases, you can challenge yourself even more with heavyweights (8#, 10#, 15#, 20# and up).
I’ve never been an “exerciser”…can I do the Mommy Method?
Yes! In your case, we recommend taking advantage of a Fitness Consultation. In this 30-45 minute appointment, your physical therapist assesses your activity level and customizes the Mommy Method just for you! Once in the program, you can come back at any point and schedule a Fitness Coaching Visit if you need help making adjustments to your routine.
I have an old injury (back, neck, foot, etc.). Can I do the Mommy Method?
Absolutely! We would strongly recommend a Fitness Consultation first though. Do I have to complete the Mommy Method Phase 1 before starting Phase 2?
No. You can use your knowledge of your fitness level and how far postpartum you are to decide which program fits you best. If you are unsure, you can schedule a Fitness Consultation. In this 30-45 minute appointment, your physical therapist assesses your activity level and customizes the Mommy Method just for you! Once in the program, you can come back at any point and schedule a Fitness Coaching Visit if you need help making adjustments to your routine.
Will there be updates to the Mommy Method?
Yes! We will frequently update the content to our Mommy Method workouts, so you can come back at any point and have a whole new set of workouts!
